    Further to enhance my comment.
    If your flooding that bad, You need an idea and plan long before you have the time to deploy additional de-watering pumps.
    BIG, preinstalled, tested and operational pumps and alarms may give you that extra minute to close that sea-cock or stuff pillows into the causality.

    Even that pump on my engine may not get first thought, but since most leaks are in the engine room, while your down there looking for that leak,, that engage lever is easy to find and push over if needed. Possibly offer a few more extra minutes.
