In bringing this tour to an end, I leave you with one last question. Is it better to pierce a wave, displace a wave or plane a wave? This builder thinks it's better to pierce and the SuperYacht Society agreed this year. She's built on a small island off the coast of the land down under... and I just gave you the name of the builder. ;)

Break-thru hull design... or see-thru hull design? In either case, it shows "Spirit"! ;)

I'm ending this tour with a yacht named "Spirit". Why? Because in the "spirit" of YachtForums (and the collective knowledge that ensues)... who can tell us about the yachts I've featured in this thread?

Hope you enjoyed the cruise... :)

    'blank' Tiffany

Yes, I could answer, but that would be cheating. Does anyone else out there really follow this stuff?

Funny, when she was under construction, the original owner wanted to name her something Tiffany, but he didn't know what, and none of us on the design team could come up with anything better than "Lady Tiffany", which wasn't very exciting. I see the new owner didn't have much more creative juice flowing.

I'm curious as to where and when you ran into her; we just spoke with the original skipper and found out she was sold last year some time.

    Hi Chris!

Nice to see you onboard!! Your ears must have been burning, as there has been some recent discussion about CC runabouts. You guys have have done a great job... equal to Ford's reincarnation of the Mustang. ;)

Tiffany is currently located at the Lauderdale Marine Center on New River, in Ft. Lauderdale. She's been well kept and is no worse for the wear. I'll be going down there later this week. If you'de like, I'll find out what I can and pass it along to you. :)

In the meantime, would you like to tell us more about Tiffany?

"Lady Tiffany was built by Norship/DML in 1994. I don't know the designer.

René, I´ll give you a hint on the designer. This Feadship and the Nautor built sail-yacht to the left, are both by the same famous designer... :)

    LIBERTY

Sorry, I only know one, so far.
Liberty was built by Hodgdon Yachts (may the spelling is not correct).

Hi Luc, and welcome back from your skiing!

Your spelling is right, Tim Hodgdon is the fifth generation Hodgdons building wooden boats in Maine. The nearby designer was Bruce King and this 80-footer has two MAN 1100 hp for a top speed of 32.5 knots!

Yes, Bannenberg is the man and the first boat is the 98 foot Oceanfast built as Mercedes. The Feadship is the 209´Siran and the sailboat is the 102´Garuda, the only Nautor built sailing yacht that is not called Swan.
Jon Bannenberg made several sailboat designs with hulls often by Ron Holland.
The most famous though is Beaupré, a 107´motor sailer built by Brooke yachts in England, which he designed for his own use. She was later sold and renamed Beaugeste, a very nice boat!

    Rene...

Good work on "Lucky Dog"! :) It's hard to identify custom built boats.

Does anyone have any information about "Shacar"? (the second yacht featured in this thread). It's larger than it looks! If you examine the picture, it's docked next to a 90'+ Broward, that looks small in comparison.

    Gazelle

According to the US Coast Guard Vessel Documentation web site Gazelle is a 1989 92' Oceanfast. By the way, this is a great site to get info on "most" US Documented vessels. See link belowUS Coast Guard Documentation Web Site
