Thanks Carl, I am glad you got to see it finally! In fact it is a big 78-footer, extended with a beach-like platform and with the "transformer" open she is reaching 93 feet..!
Hi, I can not give you a quick answer today, but usually we have 2 coats of epoxy primer and 2 coats of a hard antifouling. Have not seen any paint on the IPS... but I can find out. UPDATE; I was informed that the boat in the picture has got Propspeed on the entire IPS drive and it seems to do the job!
The D80 is now in a "beauty contest" where all can cast a vote on the net; http://www.thedesignawards.co.uk/yacht-aviation-entrants/
All over this! (Though I noticed that while the IPS80 is nominated in the Master Cabin class, there's no picture of the cabin itself... no worries though, Lars has my vote anyway.)
Almost looks like a catamaran in the last shot. Other than that, looks okay without being weird like Steve Job's boat. The straight lines and square corners may be a few years ahead of it's time, at least in the US. If I was in the market, I would definetly look very closely at the 80.
Thanks Kevin and all! I did not see that it was nominated for Master Cabin as well, but it actually has one of the nicest master cabins in this size. It is divided by a double hi-lo TV and with a walk in closet and a bath with separate WC...
The Delta 54 Open is now in production to be launched this summer. We have a couple of deck layouts depending on how it will be used. Like the D54 IPS it is built in 100 % Carbon Fiber and with two of the new Volvo Penta D8/800 the top speed is near 40 knots.
Is it 54 or 60? Hope I make it to Cannes, since the exterior design on this is superb and I would like to see it in person.
With larger props it probably will, now it is 39... The hull is the same as our 54 but the marketing name is including the platform, so it is called Delta 60 Open...
The ever present juggling of model numbering. You've now got an 88 and 80 identical and a 60 and 54 the same. Almost as bad as Sunseeker Manhattan where the 63 and 65 are the same and both are 63 but LOA is 69'4" and the new 66 is slightly shorter. Nothing wrong with your labeling if we could ever teach the consumer that the model designation is not the length. Looks like a beautiful boat.
"if you can’t convince ’em, confuse ’em" But in fact it is the LOA and this is what our near competition also use. Our aft platform is divided so the left part is fixed and inside is the gangway hidden. The center and right part is on a lift so you can transport and launch a tender, or just have it as a true swim platform...
Absolutely what many are doing. There's no right or wrong. Just people taking a lot of different routes and there are and always have been some confused consumers.
