I am sure of at least 2 having been sold. Carl has tried to review the 80 at least once, maybe twice. They get sold before he has had a chance. I also agree with you Carl. It does not really look like a Delta, but is still very good looking. Thanks for throwing something new at us Lars.
I got this nice picture of Delta 80 Nr 1, which is in the Baltic now. Nr 2 is in the Med and Nr 3 will launch this summer and arrive to the US later this fall...
This week the Delta 80 #3 hit the water, all white this time. At the same time #4 has got it's carbon fiber hull infused...
Right now we have also started to build the new deck that makes the Delta 54 IPS an Open. She is also in 100% Carbon and will have two of the new Volvo Penta IPS/D8/800's with first delivery next summer...
Nice to see Hull #3 all over this month's Boat International magazine. http://www.*********************/yachts/news/third-delta-88-superyacht-delivered-to-us-owners--31237
These boats will be seen a little everywhere, #3 is in Denmark this weekend and last weekend both #1 and #3 were in Stockholm. Number one was just back from a roundtrip to Scotland!
I love your designs AMG, but I ask myself, why did you mount an anchor outside the bow, and didn't figure out something flush mounted? To me, that would make a huge difference... (even more cleaner look), but I'm just a simple observer...
We tried to find a flush anchor that worked on our boat, but never found one. But personally I have no problems to see the anchor, I would rather delete those mushrooms in the mast....
I thought it was the Delta 80 with the exception of the one customer that thought the 88 looked better than 80 (I think that was the reason). Has it been officially been relabeled the Delta 88 now, or was it a magazine mistake?
It is true that the owner of hull #1 wanted to have 88 as the label, i think it is a lucky number where he lives. It is also true that the boat is built to the MCA and CE rules to fit in under 80 feet. These rules are about manning and engineering and many clients don´t like to fall into a more commercial category. To add to the confusion, many other producers are marketing 80 footers as anything up to 96 feet, including overhangs and platforms. So our sales people are pretty happy to refer to 88 as the number, even if I continue to say that the Delta 80 IPS is an 80-footer...
Was boating around Stockholm this morning and came across the Delta 54 in her native habitat... Great looking boat!
Now we have the new Delta 80 IPS and the Delta 54 IPS docked at the FLIBS 2016, Dock F/G Slips 28 and 29. It is right in the center of the Show between the Superyacht Pavilion and the Swimming Hall of Fame. From Delta Powerboats US you will meet Chapman Ducote with his team and from Sweden we have our Sales Manager Kalle Wessel. Most Welcome to visit our boats!
Hi Lars. I noticed the early 80 design did not have a partition between the 2 crew bunks, but the last one did. Suggestions from female crews? Hoping to see the boats today.
Yes, this could have been the reason, but mainly to be able to have three or four crew in two cabins. Have a nice day at the Show! Here is the GA of D80/3 we are showing;
Took a tour of the D-80 with Kalle today. It's a BIG 80-footer! I'm admittedly prejudice because Lars designed it, but it's one of my favorite new boats at the show, which puts the D-80 in good company (in my mind). I was also impressed with the new Westport 125; a big boat for it's size as well. Back to the Delta-80... I've been looking forward to this boat for 3 years. It's well executed and of course, fit & finish is excellent. It's worth noting the hull looked like it had been faired and painted, but it was gelcoat. Kudos to the Delta team. Only complaint was engine room access (either door) and head room with the integrated tender garage. Otherwise, a brilliant and beautiful boat from someone who is equally so. Congrats Lars!
Is it a big 80 footer or 88 footer? lol. I love the nomenclature debates, but then that always makes comparisons so strange as it is bigger and other boats labeled as 80'. All Delta boats are just exhibits of incredible creativity and uniqueness. You always get an insight into differences between European customers and US customers too, but then realize that is just the mainstream customer but there are many exceptions.
