    You're right. It wasn't difficult. It was impossible. It was teaching someone who knows absolutely nothing everything they need to know in 500 words or less.

    Then it was dealing with his discourteous responses when questioned. Yes, you do need to read a thousand other posts or articles or books. You're not ready and you don't get prepared talking about what boat to do something you're not capable of doing. You should have come with a question regarding the best way for you to learn about boating in your area and to prepare yourself for a future purchase of a boat.

    It would have been easy just to say buy this specific boat and head off across the Caribbean. Responsible people don't give that kind of advice though.

    Your immaturity and impulsiveness could put you and your family in harms way on a boat that is capable but you totally unprepared to operate it.

    Maybe he can take a course from the gals who got lost for weeks in the Pacific, that way he will have no problems ever.

    It's only 310 nm to Grand Cayman ... Why not just hop up there, then Montego Bay ... then .....
