  1. Icon 62 hull transfers to new facility

Earlier this year in April, two hulls for the Icon 62-meter series arrived in Harlingen. They moved into a drydock facility where the hulls were being prepared to be further worked on and receive the superstructure.

"...less than three months after signing of contracts! The steel will be delivered by Centraalstaal in the form of building kits for the individual construction sections. The building kits comprise all parts, no matter how small or how large necessary to build the yacht. The delivery of building kits is synchronized with the co-makers’ production capacity so that the completed 400 tonne structure will arrive at ICON Yachts facilities in Harlingen in September 2008." This was back in October 2007 when steel cutting was being done for hull 1.

Since then the first hull has made great progess. The first Icon's hull is completed and apparently was transported via tow to another facility recently. The bow has been completed and bulwarks completed on the hull. She is now gleaming white with primer.

Hull 1 has an exterior done by Redman Whiteley Dixon and an interior by Studio Linse. "...the first two being by Redman Whiteley Dixon". Stretching just over 200-feet long and nearly 40-feet wide, the first Icon 62 is being outfitted for a 2009 launch. There is a third hull under construction by Icon Yachts. "This third ICON 62 has an exterior styled by Tim Heywood."
