No, Norseman, that is the Lürssen yacht Rocinante, ex. TV, ex. Mad Summer and the Damen yacht supporter Game changer, both owned by an US-American gentlemen. He is one of the software gurus at Microsoft. I have no Lürssen yacht (yet). And I would never buy one of those maritime misfits from Damen /Amels. They roll already on a wet lawn and a chicken stable is more comfortable than it's crew quarters. Sorry but I had to say that! But Rocinante is a very nice yacht and well cared for. Her layout is perfect. I love dry exhaust stacks.
Ha, you are a better man than, I can't tell the difference between all these big boats, they look the same to me. No offense, I would certainly pay more attention to the looks and the specs if I owned one, or was shopping for a big boat. Busy moving into my new house these days, lots of work building a house, even if I never lifted a hammer. (Finding all the hidden surprises left over from lazy contractors seems a full-time job) Wifey moving some of her Art Supplies into the new studio. Kitchen Island and soon to be living room with an un-finished pool in the back. Floor had to be re-done as it was not completely flat. They builder was hoping we would not notice. We did..
Now in the middle of moving and we decided to do it ourself. (I decided, the bride was/is skeptical) Done 12-15 small car loads from the rental house in Palm Coast to the new house on the Marina so far. Renting a box truck for the big items tomorrow. If anybody in Florida would like to lift and carry heavy stuff in the 90 degree heat, speak up and you will be rewarded in Heaven. (I am sure Capt J and Capt Ralph are getting a little chubby from only driving boats, don't be shy, come over to Palm Coast we have a free weight-loss program going on)
I'm beat just trying to take the rubbish & trash out. One pick up a week and tomorrow morning is heavy rubbish (every other week) along with the house trash. I can't believe we accumulate so many cardboard boxes in two weeks. Everything (EVERYTHING), less yard trimmings must be in a garbage bag. I'm exhausted just typing this. Yes, It's early but it's time.
Ouch, so you won't be here @ 05:30 in the morning looking to lift for your brother from a different mother? Don't blame you, but this manual labor actually makes me feel young again. I joined the Merchant Marine at age 17 as the lowest boy onboard, and did a lot of manual labor. Sweating and swearing was kind of fun, same today, almost fun..
Sorry Brother, luv ya but not handling your stuff. Every time we moved, Wife called; 2 boys and a truck. Zip - Zap,, Moved..
Ha, kidding only. Got the truck today but my helper called in sick as I pulled up to my garage. Now waiting for a moving company to send 2 strong guys and I will be the driver, keeping the rental truck, so it kind of worked out, I guess.
Tomorrow; The first of 5 Mondays in a row. Full of doctors and other visits this week. Trying to get into positive spirits now. As soon as I find where Josie hid the stuff. Did I ever explain to my friends that a real week consisted of five Mondays in a row and just two other days??? Those two other days?? Oh just two days between ship and more ship... Note to self; Install bilge cooler and inside lock on bilge hatch. Also slot in the hatch for pizza delivery.
Ouch, Monday's and Doc visits ain't good, separate or together. Hope noting is serious bro, but ya ain't going there for broken toenails. Chin up and report back with good news hopefully.
The other visits, One with a lawyer. Not going to be a good week. You know why layers wear neck ties??
You know why layers wear neck ties?? Keeps their foreskin from rolling up. Found the good spirits. I'll be better now.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the dentist in Jax. Josie hid my gun really well this week. Hate it when she does that. Luckily, I'm still in good spirits.
Life in the slow lane.. Went for a boat ride today on the ICW between Daytona Beach and St.Augustine: We moved this way 13 months ago hoping it would not be boring. (After living on the water front in Fort Lauderdale for 23 years with numerous boats and many voyages to the Keys and to the Bahamas.) Not sure yet, boring it is not, yet anyways, because we built a house on a marina and found the local contractors to be less than proficient. Short boat ride today, up and down the ICW and captured this video:
My doctor is also my drinking buddy, we both moved here the same time and he is building a house as well. We both roll our eyes about the lack of quality contractors. He is working, I am retired. No depression here Bro, just trying to figure out if country living is for me (us).
