Was that the drug island, Escobar and his smugglers flew C-46s, DC-3s and Lear’s in and out of Norman?

Rwy used to be 3000’ but was extended to 4900 when they started building the marina and resort.

you wouldn’t recognize the island. The marina is real nice (it should be at $7 a foot…), huge basin, etc. The landscaping and path and roads is just spectacular.

very busy… they were full a few days ago.

Many new homes have been built and a number of beaches including Boot Cay are now private

But they have customs so it means people can fly in with having to stop in Nassau. Landing and clearing fee s varies but up to $2k for a G4. Even when staying at the marina, fees to clear customs is $1000

    but again, high quality marina

You are right, I wouldn’t recognize no marina, we always anchored out in the Berries and the Exumas then used the dink to hit the beach or the grocery stores. (But used the fuel dock at Chub, Nassau and Staniel Cay with the big boat)
Been to Bimini and to North Cat Cay with 2 power boats after selling the blow boat in 2013 but anchoring with 27-28’ power boats are not great, too much rock and rolling going on, marinas from now on, if we go back but wifey says no, no more sailing, no more boating, no more diving and no more motorcycling and no more flying in small aircraft.

Ha, yes I am O K, very much so, need to slow down anyways, 68.5 years on the this planet and just happy to be around after being stupid for most of the years.
(no doubt wifey saved my life just by saying NO, don’t ride that big Harley to the biker bars in Dallas every night, don’t smoke those cigarettes every day you idiot, etc, etc)
Just happy to have survived the 68.5, all good
