    Try with the tie bar connected to make sure it’s not binding there.

    This reminds me that we had a similar issue on the 84 Lazzara I used to run. It was only happening when turning to port. In sharp turns I d turn the wheel and nothing would happened until pressure built up and the rudders would suddenly jump. We checked a number of things incl disconnecting the rudders. The boat sold before we could figure it out. It was power assist hynautic.

    I had the same system on my 54’ Sportfish. Never had any issues with it but glad I got rid of it and upgraded the whole system. I went with the big SeaStar 24v HPU unit with a new helm and new ram. It works fantastic and I have power steering regardless of which engine I’m running without having to have pumps on both engines. This is a plus for me as I’m often trolling on just one engine.
