    Good heavens, what stunning photos!!

Those types of cloud formations are not unfamiliar to anyone who lives in "Tornado Alley", the area from just above central Texas all the way up close to Canada....

I have always had a fantasy to someday go on one of the storm chaser tours, but these types of images makes me jump back to a normal state of mind!!!!

On the 1st set of 5 images, the one with the all green sky is very familiar to me....as I child growing up in San Antonio, I saw clouds like this way back when I was in 4th grade (yes, it was along time ago, but that is not the sort of sky that one forgets). We were out on the playground after lunch, and the same type of green clouds came up (I cannot remember if green means tornado's and pink means hail, or vice versa)...needless to say, we were all raced back into the building, and I can remember my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Lee crying in fear as it got absolutely pitch black outside..no just dark, but pitch!!!! We did not have the killer radar technology nor warning systems that we have now.

We were then taken out into the hallways and made to crouch in the "tornado" pose (as in bend over, and kiss you A** goodbye!!!)...I remember that the building shook like mad and it sounded like all hades was breaking loose outside (which it was, as we later learned that a small tornado missed our school by about 150 yards) and the hail was huge (golf ball and larger).

It was that storm however, that made me into a life long amateur meteorologist (I was not good enough in math to be a real one, however  ) I still scary my mom to death when a storm comes in as I love to watch the lightning!!!

Thanks for some absolutely textbook images of scary storms!!!!

    Cheers,

    Mark
