She’s a classic that’s been tied up opposite the sandy beach for years, was there in 1998 and looked to have been there forever then. As much a part of Antibes as the Blue Lady and Spaghetti Burger (hope that’s still there).
It looks like it may have once been a lifeboat of sorts. Does it even have a motor? As for it being a "classic", we just discussed on another thread that there is no clear description of what makes a classic. You know it when you see it. Even with the loosest of criteria, I don't think this qualifies. In fact it brings to mind another discussion about why many marinas don't allow liveaboards. BTW, what is a "spaghetti burger" (I ask with fear and trepidation). As for the frog boat, it looks like a waverunner that grew up...badly.
Hi, It is or was a Burger Bar in the old Town of Antibes, I have not been there for a burger for years but assume as there is a web link to it that it might still exist. http://cote-azur.com.fr/azur/adress..._rapide_et_libre-service/spaghetti_burger.htm
You can not even buy it, it is the community part of the harbor, and the line to get in there is longer than life...
classic was very loosely used! great berth i am sure many would pay a lot have it. Spaghetti burger also did a mean berget with chips (French fries) and burger or cut up steak. very off subject
"Ca suffit" doesn´t look like a classic to me. Rather some kind of running gag and I gues there are a number of people who visit Antibes frequently and just have to walk by every time because they´re curious if it´s still afloat.
Guess a posting has been moderated away..? (Censorship from above ) The boat is not as much ugly as out of proportion: The superstructure has good lines to it, but belongs on a 100' Expedition Yacht. Or the hull is too short by 30 or 40 feet. In many cases too much condo space is fighting for room on too little deck space, but the designer's hand's may be tied by the marketing people who demands 4 cabins with 4 heads plus crew quarters and "entertainment areas" and there is nothing left for style or class just like the fugly modern cruise ships popping up at at every port with 5000 "guests" crammed into a floating city block full of artificial entertainment on a budget.
No, your post is in the original thread... "World's Ugliest Boats" (which was previously the Rogues thread). The thread you are responding to is the discussion thread titled Fugly Boats. I set up a separate thread to discuss rogues so we don't dilute the flow of ugly boat pictures in the original thread.
In that case the boat is designed for guys like you. Enjoy it.. Aha, that explains it and it went over my head a tiny bit when I posted, but that is not unusual this time of the day...
