I said "high" $1.40s. This week it's been between $1.479 and $1.484 for regular. Premium is generally $0.08 above that, and 94 Octane (only at Pertro-Can) about about $0.06 above that.

    $2.42 gas in 2015

If these two segments above get you interested in what was said at the energy hearing in Washington, here are two more surprises ....can you really believe that some young fellow (Bush appointee) would come to this meeting and suggest that they are modeling their energy policy based on a forecast of $2.42 per gallon of gas in 2015 !! What kind of kool-aid are these guys passing around down there in Washington DC ?? No wonder we are in trouble.

...have a look at this posting under "Crude" and the two previous ones on that subject thread

....just thought these were more applicable to the "Crude" thread

Nothing would surprise me in BC, but it's 2.4 cents a litre, not $2.4 per litre.
Too bad. Methinks it would have resulted in a change or two in the next government .

Just when I thought it was quiet...

Yeah right. A little too quiet!

Prices around here had settled down over the past couple of weeks, even dropped a little. My last two fill-ups were cheaper (per Liter) than they had been for the previous month.

Then this morning... wham! Up to a $0.144/L hike all over the region. The stations in higher income neighborhoods were in the mid $1.4xx range, while off-island suburban areas saw it as low as $1.364/L. I passed a $1.364 station this morning and cars were lined up all over the place. Less than 2 hours later that station was at $1.499/L like nearly every station in the Montreal area.

Hands up whoever wants a smart!

Premium in Calgary is 1.40/litre this morning.

I paid 4.49 in Fillmore Utah last week.

Can't get the CDi Smart in the US, just the gasser.

Carl... scary thing is, I'm not kidding. For a daily commuter car I'd gladly drive a smart. I'm not saying I'd give up a normal "pleasure" car, but if I could afford a 2nd car just for back-and-forth to work I'd get one. (And Konigseder makes a smokin' hot widebody conversion for them even! :D)

Codger, we don't have the CDi in Canada this year (MY08) either. Still, the fuel version still gets nearly double what my current ride gets when I drive "prudently".

And Premium here is $1.559 for 91, and $1.619 for 94.

The Konigseder Smart looks like fun.
AMG made a rather prescient statement about fuel consumption and public perception some time back. As a friend's daughter commented the other day, "The Escalade is uncool, gas pig." Her Vantage, of course, is still ok since it doesn't look like a "gas pig". The wisdom of putting a 17 year old in an Aston Martin is a whole other subject.:)

The funny thing I noticed in that article is actually the poll in the sidebar:

From what I understand, the first option has already come and gone.

Heh... kinda' defeats the whole purpose. Mind you, parking would still be a snap.

There's a video on youtube of a smart with a Hayabusa engine squeezed into it. Again... defeating the purpose, but man does it ever sound awesome.

Yes, we are downsizing here. One of our dealers have this Smart, a late model he says is better than the previous for long trips. I have one of these black Mini's as my daily driver and have also used it for 1.000 km trips without much pain...
