How Do You Know When The Show Is Over?

When Showtime leaves the show! :(

Today is the first day of real sunshine we have had in Fort Lauderdale since Saturday. Just in time to get some shots of the boats as they are making their way on a very crowded Intracoastal.

We have Four Aces and a beautiful blue Perini Navi sailing on the high tide!

With all the domes on the top of Four Aces her guests are sure not to miss an episode of Life Styles of the Rich and Famous, a phone call, or a hand of internet Texas Holdem! ;)

Very nice disco, the sailing yacht might be Morning Glory?

Lazarra's 2 story floating showroom is the most interesting concept for a boat dealer pavillion I have ever seen. Lolly is a great example of a Lazarra 80' with a sky lounge.

We also have Olga, Helix, and Remember When.

I heard sales were pretty good this boat show even considering the economy. I've heard that one production sportfish company sold 10 boats, and another sold 6 and 4 more possibly in the next couple of days pending seatrials...... what did everyone else hear?

"Excellence III" is still looking sweet after these years. Beautiful yacht ...the design never looks stale nor the paint job.

Disco, looks like you were out there around mid day, thanks for the shots. I hit it earlier in the day so here's what I caught. Add comments for taste.

    G'Day CaptJ!
Hope that the sales talk is all true! That would be a sign an economy is on the UP and UP!
Good for us all, no matter where we live!

I was going to say that those sales numbers are encouraging considering how the weather didn't really cooperate over the weekend either (12" of rain in FL) but I guess if you are in the market to spend that kind of money, a little rain is no problem.

    Super shots as always CaptTom!

Perfect framing, proportions, and obstruction free pics! Looking forward to seeing some more of those awesome artistic night time shots you mentioned!!

I was there a little after noon and got to see some close quarter maneuvering as the 125'+ yachts either turned into or backed down the fairway in front of Bahia Mar. I was shooting from Idlewyld Drive, the street that parallels Bahia Mar West of the Intracoastal, so sorry for the occasional palm tree, piling, or fence. I am going to check out the New River downtown over the weekend to see who might be hanging around.

As the sun was beginning to rise and play hide-and-seek, I had to keep changing the camera settings to account for the glare and then shadows. They'll get better.

Many yachts headed north on the ICW as the weatherman was forecasting a pretty stiff wind by mid morning. Fortunately I was shooting from the south side and did get my share of floaters. I heard it was pretty choppy on the high seas by afternoon.
