    Tucker,

Sorry I missed you. I'll stop by the yard in the next couple of weeks. I'm coming down Roscioli's to pick up images & specs on the new expedition he's building. Forgot to take a picture of the model in the builders tent, but it looks good. Can't recall, but I think it's a Setzer design. Has a "pre-Floridian" look to it.

I'll be on the docks later...

Hit the show on soggy Saturday and although not as crowded as expected due to the wx, still a good crowd. Thanks to Capt. Ken on Curt-C for the time to chat in between showing the yacht to the masses. Engineer Tyler gave me a tour (along with some broker folks who seemd to enjoy the layout) and the interior is beautiful. Light maple/burl wood accented by unobtrusive trim in areas gives the yacht a large, open feeling, even below deck. Neat to see the staterooms with queen and twin beds in each, offering versatility to the passenger accommodation options. VIP has a cool marble sink, and is on main deck with master on lower deck. Good to see Ken and crew keeping busy while other yachts nearby had their crews doing a lot of sitting.
Carl, how about Kevin's idea on YF apparel? May be worthwhile for the Miami and Palm Beach shows.

    Hi all,

Just getting in. Spent the day at the convention center. I'll be back at Bahia Mar tomorrow and planning to hang till the horns blow. I'm stopping at the YF watering hole at 4:00. Drinks are waiting... come on down!

Shoot, guess I missed all the action, AND meeting Carl:D

Have to work tomorrow and won't be there for the final ca-bang (and the free drinks:( )

The show today was okay but crowded: Joe Six-Pack and his folks were all over the place.

Met some good guys, the Standard Horizon folks, the Max-Prop folks, the Simrad Folks, etc, etc.

Also many fine looking females strutting their stuff...;)

    Not a bad show....

    METS anyone? (Amsterdam 14-16 november)
    I'll be there 14th or 15th.
Would be cool indeed to meet some forum-people.

For those who don't know METS, it's more for the professional side of the business (equipment etc.). There's no-one really selling any boats there, but I think it's more interesting than Boot Dusseldorf e.g. (no Joe six-packs ;))

As for a meeting place... there must be no more suitable place than the captain's bar in the superyacht pavillion.

Monday night, 9:00 PM... just got home. Thanks to everyone who attended, or tried to attend the FLIBS Meet-Up.

Special thanks to Kenny Bracewell for being the courteous captain that makes us proud to call him a member. The award for greatest distance travelled goes to Jim Hawkins, president of Queenship/Crescent Yachts. Jim came all the way from British Columbia. Billy came from the west coast too, ahem... of Florida! Thanks for making the trek. To Neil... it's OK to post now (you're incognito). And finally, the vote for the person we all wanted to meet the most goes to Loren! Somehow, he gave us the slip and was last seen with a hottie that likes slow boats.

Good to see old friends and even better to makes new ones. I look forward to FLIBS each year, but somewhere around Sunday/Monday... I start looking forward to it being over. I stayed until the boat bugles broke-out in song, then I smiled... and thanked my lucky stars I didn't have to dismantle a display!

A shower followed by too much sleep is in order. Night all!

    One final note...

I want to say to thank you to Kevin. He got the ball rolling on the FLIBS meet-up, but was unable to attend at the last minute. While the rest of us were walking the docks, downing drinks and rating boat show models... Kevin was looking after YF for us.

Many thanks Kevin! We owe you BIG time. :)

    Hi Carl,

Finally back in the office after a great show, sure made up for the disaster of 2005.

As always is was great catching up with you at FLIBS, to bad my schedule only allowed for two very brief stopovers at the YF hospitality suite. Next year you might want to do a background check on some of the hired help, as our waitress, although very amusing and a source of endless entertainment and speculation left a little to be desired in the looks and short term memory department, actually left a lot to be desired.

I’m missing the weather already, although it is clear and bright right now the temperature is a balmy 31 degrees. My body almost went into shock when I got off the plane.

    Thanks and keep smiling

    Jim

Glad I could make it from the other coast to meet up with a couple of ya'll. Always nice to meet new people (well, not always, but in this instance :)) I agree with you on all counts regarding our waitress, Jim! She was quite entertaining and undesirable. :D Ken, I appreciate you taking the time to give us the grand tour of Curt C! She looks great. Tom, sorry we missed each other. Maybe next time. Carl, great meeting you and hanging out. Look forward to next time.

Now I need to go back to cramming for exams since this weekend didn't leave much study time. Have a good one.

    Carl:

As is usually the case at FLIBS, the 4:00pm appointment on the barge came and went to quickly for us working stiffs. I was hoping you would take photos so you could do a "match the forum member with photo" contest. Sorry I missed the event............PS - I spotted Captain Kenny at the Halloween party but wasn't sure if he was Jack Sparrow or just dressed in drag on a Sunday night!

    Hi Mike!

Last time I saw you... you were rolling the dice in high style Friday night; with a woman on each arm! Not a surprize... you're like an celebrity on the docks. People calling your name, women wanting your attention. Heck, I felt like a groupie standing next you!

Sorry you missed our gathering. Maybe with Sabrina or Lauren in attendance we can get a few more people to show up next year.

So Kenny was dressed in drag? Darn glad I missed that! :D
