I suspect that I will be from the last generation to do so with reckless abandon. That said..... If they could make the boat do what it does now purely electrical in the same space and for the same cost as the DD's I would sign up in a heartbeat.
“financial investment on a lifestyle” I love this!!! It is spot on, why didn’t I think of it before.... this coming from a guy who has invested.... love that word... almost a half million bucks Over the last 17 years in a boat worth ... I don’t even want to say. Yeah had I kept my $250k water front condo back in 2003 Instead of buying the hatt it would be worth at least twice that right now but ... I m so glad I didn’t. It s about the lifestyle. It s about the fun and the smiles and the memories. And the other $250 I ve spent (so far) refitting her, plus my Labor could have been invested in real estate. But I have no regrets whatsoever. YOLO!
Absolutely. I think I'm there with my gal. After doing that with the previous one. But I don't look back because no one is going to hand the money back to me, so why bother? I wouldn't have it any other way. I can poke holes in the "I own a condo" angle, too, but why bother? This is what we've chosen to do, and the lifestyle rewards us daily.
This is a " Feel Good" thread for me today. I've put a terrible amount of money back into my little boat over the years. I know I cannot recoup my " investment" but never let that dictate my actions. I've tried to put the very best equipment, materials etc back into her. In the end I love my little vessel, she is perfect for our lifestyle and as Pascal said as I did I last night over dinner with friends......YOLO. Also, I love Trumpy yachts and like to see them out in the wild.
