Passagemaker gets my vote - I have subscribed since the 1st or 2nd issue and have kept it going despite the horrendous cost in Aus. Have tried numerous others in the intervening years, but let them all lapse. Ocassionally I'll pick up a newstand copy, usually at an airport waiting for a flight. The net and forums generally are now the best source of information and also for just plain drooling and dreaming.

Have you ever seen a magazine on the USS Enterprise? That's only half joking. Communicators, talking computers, voice activation, lazors, medical scans. Roddenbury truely foretold the future and they don't have magazines. I consider myself a die hard, yet as mentioned before, I still have the subscriptions but I don't have the time to read them. There are just more important or fun things I can do with my time.

But I said if they should choose to Kevin, it is not like it is imperative!

    Favorite Boat Mag?

    "Yacht Premiere".....
The format is oversized with large pictures and general arrangements that are easy for these old eyes and, it's the only mag allowed in the house with fold-outs!..........

PassageMaker, Circumnavigator, PMY, Northwest Yachting. Of those I like PM and Circumnavigator best. PMY was a freebie from a boat show and Northwest Yachting comes free every month. Hard to say no to freebies.

Soundings, because it's local to new england.
Good tech articles and even reviews of old boats.
Cruising destinations and This happened to me kind of stories.
Like they say "Real Boats, Real Boaters"

I have to agree with Highlander about Sounding for local news boating, etc (the editor keeps his boat in the next marina down from me)

But my favorite is Maine Boats Homes and Harbors. While its not all boats, the content that is boating related is excellent. I swear that the magazine smells like varnish...I swear!
