ANDIAMO has me confused. The bridge configuration says expedition, while the hull says motoryacht? Kelly
How about this... "Worlds' first adventure class yacht" the TREKKER 70 We built a model of her which made it's debut at the Ft. Lauderdale show. Check out www.trekkeryachts.com I have tried to attach images but the files are too large for attaching
The expedition yacht designs of Frontier Marine Designs looks good... http://www.expeditionyachts.com/FrontierDesigns.html
Thanks Rene, these yachts have some intersting features. The largest two of the Ranger series shows a variation of the Octopus large tender system, but it looks much simpler to use, even allowing a large (50/60ft ?) sports fisher like Aussie Rules had, to be deployed at sea. The 90mtr Norsman has room for two large (50ft ?) tenders and helicopter parking in the middle (you can just see it's tail on the third pic). This yacht also appears to have small balconies for six of the guest rooms. I like the looks of the red and white 85mtr Norsman the best. For the first few interested, I have done a mild crop and convert (from 6 meg tiff file , to 300k ish jpeg ) of 15 pics of about eight of the largest yachts that took my interest, including the yachts mentioned above. Send me a PM and I'll email them to you. The email will have about 3.4meg of pics, down from 90meg. Why does Royal Denship use Tiff files??? Love those Trekker yachts Brian!
Question on Pricing for these Yachts Can anyone provide information on what these converted tugs sell for per foot or per meter. Specifically I'm interested in what the Seawolfe C would have sold for to become the Dolce Far Niente.
no it is a format designed for pc/mac/unix. they use tiff because those pics are for press/marketing use, its a very common format for that. tiff also offers lossless compression unlike jpg. In this case i believe the pics are actually uncompressed. I agree they should also offer large jpg downloads for the general public though cos its just making wasteful load on the server with spotters downloading 11mb TIFF files when they could be downloading 500kb JPGs as regards to the other question SEAWOLFE C. was offered for $18m. She has LOA 58.80m. No idea what she went for though.
Thanks for the info. Asking price and selling price are two different matters, expecially with a motivated seller. Anyway, I just can't see these conversions selling for over $15,000 per meter, which puts my guestimate at $8 - $9 million as a selling price. Any comments?
Talk about a packed aft deck, two tender and two jet skis? "Private Lives". All sizes | Megayacht | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Hi, I know this is an old post but how do you get that number from a 58m boat if it is only going to realise $15,000 a metre? For the real value of some of these old girls put up for conversion you might well start with the weight of the metal multiplied by the day rate aka the scrap value.
Snapped a couple of Private Lives on the Dania Cutoff Canal last May. And just guess where she is anchored right now??!! Just off of Chappaquiddick Island!!! Hopefully she navigates away from ponds and well clear of bridges while she is there. Docked right behind Private Lives was Holo Kai a 165' oil field supply boat that was converted into the "Ultimate Fishing Yacht". Ultimate Fishing Yacht Later that day I passed the stunner Koi a 115' McMullen & Wing specifically designed as a serious expedition and luxury cruising yacht all rolled into one gorgeous vessel. And what discussion of expedition yachts would be complete without taking a look at Shadow Marine's 220' purpose built Allure Shadow. Here she is docked at Sails Marina just South of the 17th Street Causeway Bridge in Fort Lauderdale where she has berthed for the last several years. While she appears to be a serious heavy duty fun machine from the outside beneath her somewhat business like exterior her interior rivals that of the most luxurious mega yachts! "Perfect Life" and "Perfect Day" interesting names but...she doesn't have the Perfect paint job though...
