Duck Boat accident in Philly

    Also, last week the news announced that the tug & barge contractor was hauling for the city of Philadelphia.
    The city fired the contractor and hired a replacement contractor last week.

    In a radio interview a couple of reporters were kinda of hinting around that the COLREGS should be changed to prevent this from ever happening again.

    The reporters know about more trhan nothing to do with the Rules of the Road and are excellent, first class, hard core, Monday Morning QB's.

    Duck Boat Verdict

    Verdict: Operator is responsible.
    According to the evening news, the operator may face up to 3 years in prson.
    The operator is asking for mercy based on his child's condition. The child was not responding after anesthetic during an opertaion. The operator was on the cell phone, laptop and texting just before the accident.

    The Duck boat operator was also texting and phoning just before the acident, although they did not say who he was texting or if it was related to the situation.

    Those Duck boats weren't built for tourism in mind .. they were built to carry small groups of Soldiers across bridge barren rivers until Engineers got a pontoon up n running ..




    The design of them are WW2 era .. unlike ultra bouyant Bridge carrying models used by Bunderswher [German Millitary ]
