I actually thought the first photo was the Sunseeker 130 then to scroll down to see the Sunseeker 130 so I was actually a little confused for a few seconds.
Both of the pics above are of the Turkish doppelgänger. I've not seen one as blatant as this for a few years.
Sorry, I didn't intend to befuddle. I'm kind of pleased you recognise the 130 Ps lines....even if they are being used without permission on another's product. I'm very aware of how many similarities can be found between the multitude of product out there, now and historically, accidental and in homage....this is different. This is an exact copy of a set of shapes, curves, features and proportions that together make up an individual and recognisable design. Maybe we'll let it go because under the water its a displacement hull, not planing.
"Rather like"...? I'd say "exactly like". Is this the same yard that ripped off the Palmer Johnson designs a few years ago?
I remember the PJ designs you talk about Kevin but wow...this is really serious. I mistook the bottom one for the legit Sunseeker 130.
Here is the Sunseeker 130 for easy comparison: I think it looks more like this Sunseeker 115 though: It's pretty obvious that someone tried to copy it as closely as possible, and make a clone. Not cool. I see that as a very different act to the one shown in the other thread linked in post #3 of this thread though. Taking inspiration from, and even small elements of, an existing design is something that happens every day in all industries, whether it's done consciously or not. Personally I like the "moron in a hurry" test often used in court: if a moron in a hurry would mistake one for the other, it's a copy. Otherwise, it isn't.
