things seemed pretty quiet this year but it's still early in the season. I flew back home yesterday, there were only a handful of boats in the boat basin in Nantucket for instance... didn't see a lot of traffic on the ICW, the Ches. or even Long Island Sound on the way up either. indeed at 100+ your options are limited, moorings for instance are out of the pictures in most places although Newport has a few large moorings that accommodate boat well over 100', only $1 a day, first come first served. Most marinas in newport seem to be in the $3 to $4 range which isnt' that bad. Dont' know about Fairhaven Shipyard (Mass), probably a little cheaper, and easy to fly in and out off thru providence. Try looking at other places a little less known.. for instance, Pt Judith has the cheapest fuel in the area and they can take in up to about 100/110', has to be reasonable for dockage speaking of fuel, Casey's in Newport has the best prices, I paid 2.24 with tax last week, just a few penies more than pt Judith. Newport is obviously one stop you dont' want to miss in the north east
Long Island came alive this weekend. The waters were loaded with boats. Sag Harbour seems to be jumping. I wouldn't expect any deals now. The time to make deals passed about a month ago.
Will Be in Boston for 4th of July Can anybody give me a good location to anchor to watch the fireworks. Lats and longs would be great. Also what other actitives is there to see. Parade's Etc. Etc. What other things are a must see while in Boston.
places In New England You may want to consider Bristol, Rhode Island. You can anchor in the harbor and watch one of the oldest and biggest parades in the country and fireworks. There are also concerts going on every day in the towns main street. Good Luck
Boston - We must have some members up there? If anyone can give me any info on fireworks in Boston that would be great. You can PM if need be. I would think Boston would have a huge fireworks show. Thanks
