So you suggest doing nothing to protect yourself and others? A boat won't sink unless water gets in, Do you not close your portholes when you cruise? I have a chronic cough due to COPD. Want me standing behind you unprotected on the grocery checkout line? Everybody sneezes and coughs due to pollution, seasonal allergies, etc.

Interesting report on the German Site DW looking at the significant difference in death rates between Germany and Italy and Spain and comparing their situations to the United States.
Their thesis is that death rates reflect the availability of proper intensive care beds with ventilation. If the stock of ICU beds is good the death rate is moderated. If ICU beds have to be rationed, with elder patients with multiple health problems least likely to get ventilation or proper ICU support, the death rate will be measurably higher.
Germany has a population of 80 million and 24,000 ICU beds or 29 per 100,000
Italy has a population of 60,000 and 5,000 ICU beds or 12 per 100,000
Spain has a population of 46,000,000 and 4,600 ICU beds or 10 per 100,000

By comparison, the United States has a population of 330,000,000 and 112,000 ICU beds or 34 per 100,00

Two notes: The Germans were in the middle of increasing their ICU count to 50,000 and some figures suggest that 28,000 beds are now available which would match the American number at 34
There is a wider geographic variance in the availability of ICU beds in the United States between areas with a larger number of beds per 100,000 and areas with smaller numbers.

    Gents,

This thread has been stripped of comments that will lead us down a canal with insufficient draft. About the only cruising any of us are doing is digitally. Let's not ground the ship. ;)

Oh yeah..I saw a different photo of that boat and she told me what it was. Pure pipe dream for me, but that is my kind of boat. I'm not to big into the 16V Whopper fish Stoppers...:)

I make a wicked grilled cheese sandwich, nuked hot dog or bacon, oh and PBJ.:) We always planned on dinner ashore. Besides, that gives guests the chance to mingle with locals and soak in the local atmosphere. Plus with me cooking my guests would starve.
