I've looked and I don't see it. It looks like the boat coming from the right stays on a pretty darn straight course to me. Then again we may not be talking about the same video. Are you speaking to the Red Sea video?
For clarification. Both videos posted here are of the same collision and are identical to the one in the original thread. We believe that this incident took place in the Red Sea. I agree with you about the prop wash being straight on the ‘trade only’ version – but if you look at the ‘my space’ copy which is slightly larger, or view the ‘trade only’ one at full screen, it does look as if the smaller boat was turning to port and then corrects to continue on its original course - almost as if the helmsman decides to go abaft the larger vessel, but his senoir points out that they are approaching from the starboard and the larger boat should go around them. However, this is a peripheral view and this may simply be a result of the curvature of the camera lens.
Post #18 Jump to 32 seconds and the camera pans to the right, look at the trail left by the smaller boat. If I have my bearings right the smaller boat was probably at that point right about the time the movie started. If they changed course just before the video started the larger vessel would have no way to avoid them, even at the slow speeds it was probably traveling at, and the collision at that point on the smaller vessel was probably the best possible outcome for a collision. Correction 8-10 second mark. Boy thats a messed up flash video player.
1) You can get the small boat's direction of travel from the boat that appears at the start of the video. He's on a straight course. 2) Any trailing of his wake to the right that you might see is accounted for by the direction of the wind which you can tell by his flag. 3) The right turn of the smaller boat after the collision was a direct result of the motion of the camera boat. 4) It almost doesn't matter because they are BOTH at fault and clueless. 5) Although the little boat had right of way he may be more at fault because he had more options at his disposal due to his size and speed. He never made any attempt to slow, reverse or change course. It's unclear what if any evasive actions the camera yacht took.
