    NYCAP, sorry for what I'm sure is Greenhorn-Question-of-the-Day" What does it mean to release the OB--did you pull up at outboard engine??! Also Deckies, what catch did they release (and what does it mean to hit shore in your RIB's?).

    There is a locking mechanism that keeps the OB from poping up (primarily happens in reverse). A 14 fiberglass with a 40hp draws about a foot at full throttle. When the engine skeg hits and pops up you now draw about 6".
    That Riva should draw about 24" The CG about 3 or 3 1/2 feet.
    And before anybody mentions that one might end up with the OB sitting inboard, that too has happened, but on a different boat.:eek:
