I have somebody checking today to see if the boat I'm thinking of has those engines on it or not. And if there are parts manuals on board.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Lars, the biggest difference in the floorplan layout between Transition and my boat is that Transition has the Master stateroom located up forward and on the port side with the bed athwartship while my boat has a separate VIP style entrance amidships to the Master stateroom with the bed on centerline.

I am not familiar with any system that provides fresh air ventilation in the cabin other than opening up the portlites and deck hatches!

Thanks Judy. I left him a message this morning and I will keep trying him.

Luckily this is not urgent, but it is something that needs to be on the boat.

Then it was Transition I remember, with the Master forward and some arrangement to channel fresh air straight down there, not rocket science, I know.

I always thought it was Fondled Lowly Intern's Bootie while Sozzled, or is that only in D.C.?

    Hi,

Also , Don't forget that most if not all Hard Iron parts have Numbers in the casting, these will be good with the hardware adjustments but not help much with the little adjustments to F.O. Pump cam Timing etc.

That is some good information, thank you. I did notice that Air Research is stamped on the turbos on the port engine, but not the stbd. The stbd has what looks to be Cat reman number plates on them, which is confirmed on the engine rebuiild documentation. Both engines were rebuilt in 2005, but several months apart and by two different shops. I do not have the documentation on the port engine to determine if the turbos were replaced at the time of rebuild or not.

The media number of the original parts book is SEBF0589. I am not finding it available through the regular channels for download but you may be able to contact CAT corporate and see if it is still available. If not contact me (email) and I might be able to work out a way to photocopy our shop copy for you.

Finally got word the other day. No parts book on board and they are not the Pantropic modified motors from what I understand.

That media number is a big help, thank you. I have a friend who works at a CAT Machinery dealership and I emailed him that media number so that he can call Corperate and see if they can dig up a copy. I figure that if he calls and says that he has a good client that needs one, it will carry more weight than if I called them. My fingers are crossed, but I am not holding my breath because I know that CAT stopped producing them long ago.

I'll email you and let you know if it works out.

    THANK YOU CAT TECH!
