    You become a shipping magnate. Then you can afford boats or boat builders.

    I remember a prof in college telling us to figure a way to eliminate windshield wipers on a car, patent it before marketing, and car manufacters will make you very rich. Never been able to figure how to do it, so went into IT instead.

    I "invented" the ultrasonic windshield cleaning already in the 1950:s, among other things...;)

    Virtually everyone who makes a lot of money works very hard at it. Even those who scam their way to millions are working hard to make those scams happen. I think the key is that people who work hard when they don't have to make it ahead. People who slacked off in school, found themselves with one to five children with a spouse/partner who similarly did not apply themselves, and few marketable skills, they are going to work extremely hard to stand still.

    If you're born well off you have more opportunities to apply hard work where it is not strictly required, but no matter where you are that seems to be key to success.
