Hi, Is this something like it? http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2008/07/super_yacht.jpg
I saw this one tonight in Wilhelmshaven (north Germany). Any ideas? I checked photos of some of the latest by Blohm & Voss and Lürssen, but I have no ideas.
This yacht appears to be the 361 foot Lurssen Radiant (ex project Darius). She is a sister ship to Dilbar and Pelorus.
Yes it appears to be "Radiant"...Well I would say she is a sister to "Dilbar" NOT "Pelorus". The design takes many cues from Pelorus but I do not think you can call her a sister...?
The hull of Radiant is stylistically and proportionally the same as Dilbar and Pelorus. If you are a yachtie, you know there are only three yachts afloat with this hull design. Pelorus was a groundbreaking yacht and arguably the most striking yacht afloat. While Dilbar and Radiant, with there modified superstructures are bulkier, Pelorus is clearly the inspiration for this series of yachts. Maybe Pelorus should be called a Mother to the sisters Dilbar and Radiant.
ok guys. I need help with this one. She was anchored off of Maui last week. This is the best photo I could get since she was several miles off shore. I estimate she is all of 200'. I have not had a chance to research her, I expect she should be fairly easy to identify with the blue hull and bow mast and 3 satalite domes. But I figure someone on here will know the answer before I could even have google warmed up. Thanks,
Yep, I knew someone would know quickly. You are correct. Once i had the name it was easy to confirm its in Hawaii. Speculation in the islands is that its a charter boat and Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler and staying on it because they are filming a movie in Maui and the boat showed up the same time they did.
I would not be surprised but you know it was only at the beginning of this year that I realised the commonality of the hull number and her name, I never realised that until then.
7 is a magical number. One might consider it good fortune to have their beautiful yacht associated thrice with such a fortunate and significant numeral. Great name no matter what the inspiration!
^not only that, 7 is the number of 'soul doubt'. But better having 3 x 7 than 3 x 6, like 666. However 69 would be nice also to see.
Good point MKM. I seriously doubt that the owner of 777 would have been equally inspired if the build number had been 666. I doubt that a yard would build under the number 666, much like many building omit the 13th floor. Aren't numbers great?!
