Show organizers are constantly evaluating the circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic and how it affects the successful casting and conclusion of major boat shows. One of these shows, the Boot Dusseldorf which is usually held in January has been moved forward by a couple months to April 17th to 25th. The 2021 show would have been held January 23-31.

"Due to the current situation, Messe Düsseldorf has decided, in conjunction with all of our partners, that boot Düsseldorf will be postponed and will be held from 17 to 25 April 2021. This means the trade fair will now take place shortly before the upcoming season and thus at the perfect time for all watersports fans. Announcing the new dates early on Messe Düsseldorf also gives exhibitors planning security for preparing their trade fair participation and transporting their boats and yachts. The hygiene concept PROTaction will once again ensure the excellent safety that Messe Düsseldorf already provided at the CARAVAN SALON 2020 - this concept passed the test with flying colours."

Boot Dusseldorf has been terminated for this year even with the previous advancement and rescheduling of the event to mid to late April 2021 the situation in Europe still has not gotten better enough to permit a successful show. The show has now been postponed until 22-30 January 2022. "The continuing high level of infection and the fact that the end of the lockdown is not foreseeable for the time being make a resumption of trade fair operations at the end of April appear increasingly unrealistic. We have reassessed the situation with our partners and jointly decided to cancel boot 2021 early. Our priority is the health and planning security of our exhibitors, visitors and service providers. All activities will now be focused on the successful staging of boot 2022," says Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

I get it, but why schedule anything until herd immunity is a thing with time and vaccinations? I wish all the vendors and support professionals well.
