    Hi,

I believe it is 8 x MTU 4000 Gensets, I was told it was either exactly the same or very close to the arrgts on LUNA

    Eclipse power

Thank You for the information, K1W1. It seems that this option with the 8 diesel generators is recently quite popular at the shipyard Blohm & Voss, but also in general. Octopus also has diesel electric drive with eight MTU 16V 4000 M50B engines (1.840 kW each), and for one of the future B&W projects, 120m+ Exploration yacht, it is also said it will have 8 diesel (each 2.080 kW) driven generators. I'm pretty sure that it is an MTU engine, type 16V 4000 M33S. In the case of Eclipse, it is possible that even a 20-cylinder version of series 4000, 20V 4000 M53B (3.015 kW) were used, the same one that will be built in the new German F125 frigates. Otherwise, I am inclined to believe that it is a 16-cylinder MTU engines. If it is indeed an all DE propulsion with eight electrical generator units, I believe that the total power of the diesel engines could be 17.920 kW (24.035 bhp / 24.370 mHP).

Eclipse under way off St Maarten today. Appologies for the photo quality, my lense started fogging up when I took it out of the airconditioning

I wonder how she rides in the deep blue...she's a pretty sturdy/stable boat.

    Charter?

It's there, Luna & Pelorus as well. I wonder what the weekly rate for Eclipse will be? $1 Mil +?

    Hi,

Just because these are shown as being available for charter don't for a second imagine anyone will actually be able to charter them.

There might well be a very creative and realistic looking paper trail that indicates chartering is taking place but it will not be the sort of chartering that many on here are used to.

Am I counting correctly if I figure there are 7 floors from the bilge pump (assuming there is a floor under the deck in which the swim platform is on) all the way up to the honeymoon deck?

I don't know what her draft is, but I'm guessing there's plenty of room down there considering the engine room, tanks, mechanical, etc. I can't find a draft spec. on her.

Now I am thinking about it...does "Eclipse" carry a limo tender? I was looking at photos of the 'Eclipse fleet' shadow, "Umbra" and I noticed in one photo of her arrival into Gibraltar, she had a few tenders aboard, one of them looked to be a limo in the region of 12-meters or a little less maybe.
