I just flew over the island. Freakishly it was both fully recognizable and simultaneously unrecognizable with its new cruise ship pier off the north beach. Really have no use for the place any longer. Charm has left the rock.

With all the updates and stories here on YF thru the years, I did figure I was not missing anything.

If you ignore the new stuff, and the people, it's still a nice destination. Bimini Bay is a good marina with floating docks. The beach is still nice, the concrete ship nice, Honeymoon harbor is nice.......it's close to us at 50nm, so it's an easy destination.......The fishing sucks compared to the glory days. The other thing is I've been over there on some off weekends and pretty much had the entire place to myself. Then other weekends it's sort of busy.

The beach at Bimini Bay is bordered with construction. There used Be 2 miles of beaches bordered with shady pines. The whole thing has been a construction site for the last 15 years. From those beautiful floating dock (many which fell apart during Irma and release hundreds of cubic feet of foam on the water...) all you see is construction equipment, rusted barges and piles of sand.

And don’t get me started on the crowds they bring to the Casino and Hilton. A cross between Hialeah and overtown... for those not familiar with Miami, I d say the Bronx meet Trailertown. :). Wife beaters and gold chains

Honeymoon Harbor is half the size it used to be with three times the crowd plus tour boats from BimBay.

only thing left is the Sapona.

It's embarrassing to be on the banned list when Canadians, the Uk and EU are welcome. We used to lead the world.

Well, they are finding the same as lots in the states. This ship is not over yet.
It will be a long time before it is.
Every time I must go out to large and small towns around us, we are the only masked folk. The Darwin effect will soon kick in.
Not sure how it is in Canada, EU or UK. It is a stupid attitude we are witnessing around here in N E FL. Freaking news channels will not report any of this either.
Oh, Publix started restricting TP again. Another hint on more ship to come.

Cheap ammo dot com is running low also,, not us..

It seems private boats, non commercial, will be allowed to continue to enter, subject to everyone being tested immediately before.

Here in Ontario it is a requirement to have a mask on when entering any public place. I read today the police are chargeing people as they see fit. Our numbers are way low per capita compared to south of us. I dont see our boarders opening up anytime soon. Even our blue jays wont be playing their home games in Toronto this year.

    Ahhhhh.
Where are they going to play?
In an empty stadium or stands like NASCAR is trying?
Maybe these sports pukes are getting forced down to just humble pie and the multi million dollar contracts will start falling apart.

Damm, I may be entertained yet....

I dont know where the home games will be played. What I do know is all events have been cancelled for the remainder of the year in Ontario. The Ontario government has taken a position of being very cautious and open with updates daily. Yesterday they had over 25000 people tested with I believe about 155 new cases, less then 100 in all hospitals ICU, and 43 on ventilators. Certain areas are in phase 3 of the opening of our province. The government has made it clear if people do not follow the rules then they will crack down on those that dont. And of course they do not want to see the boarders open yet. I dont see this changeing anytime soon, untill a vaccine or whatever is discovered that protects people. The government has made it quite clear that they are relying on science to get out of this situation. I guess its a wait and see situation.

The struggle for the Jays appears to be MLB wanting the park to be TV-ready for the multiple camera angles of the MLB parks. Shortly after Toronto was ruled out by the Canadian Parliament, Buffalo was ruled out do to TV issues. Rumors floating about Pittsburg, to run an opposite schedule from the Pirates...but, yeah, the stadiums will be empty.

The surge is apparently in Freeport? Too much access to small boaters pouring over from SoFla. Weather has been absolutely flat calm, and easy for even the smallest boats to run across. 10 day testing window still allows 10 days for you to contract under that sketchy reliance of a test window. But 10 days can't become 7 because the results aren't reliable within the timeline. When I recently went I took two tests at two facilities to be sure I had one set in hand in time.

That being said, if she was down here I'd gladly run over at any given time, hoist a yellow flag and spend some time on the hook. Nothing ashore I need to see or do...

I don’t understand the appeal with GB except maybe for the folks from Palm Beach And points north.

Exumas are very busy right now. Right now there is a dozen 100+ footers here in Staniel/big majors. Marinas are full.

Talked this morning with my friend who lives on Rum Cay and he reported that the increases in cases is due MOSTLY Bahamians returning from Florida shopping trips and vacations.
