The more letters and numbers appended to any Porsche model designation, the higher the price for each individual component and subsequent repair. Perhaps a Carrera T - just one letter - would be the daily driver to aspire to. Not so limited that I'd feel bad putting mileage, wear, and tear on it.

That's a fairly normal maintenance schedule... just too bad the parts and service costs are inflated by the brand logo. I'm happy with the Toyobaru twin... 1/10th the cost, 9/10th's the fun.
Porsche NA is targeting flippers with the 911 S/T: https://www.thedrive.com/news/porsc...o-buyers-for-the-first-year-to-deter-scalpers
Japan loves their cans. There's an entire automotive sub-culture of modified vans. It's crazy, but I love 'em for it. LOL
Jay Leno is all in on the 911 Dakar. He was surprised and didn't even take it off piste. Source, YouTube video.
At the track this afternoon... Conditions were pretty slick... the RS owner didn't actually take it out on track. Having looped the BRZ alarmingly close to a guardrail before lunch, I can't say that I blamed him.
Interior photo of the funky Lexus van, looks more like a VIP jet on the inside than a bread box delivery van.
Speaking of exotics and classics… anyone going to Fuelfed Cars n Coffee this Sunday in FTL? We re planning on going with the E-type which we just drove almost 3000 miles tru TN, VA and NC. I may keep the bugs on the windshield just for kicks
Looks like you perfectly timed leaf changing season! And beat me to a big bucket list item!! There's a British car show in Jupiter's Carlin Park each year. I went to this show about 10 years ago when the new Jaguar F-type made it's debut in the United States. In a sea of 40 year old cars, guess which car failed to start when the show was over? The brand new F-type! Would love to go the show Pascal but I'm wrapping up FLIBS tomorrow then heading across the state for an FAI-F3C contest. It's been 25 years since I last competed and I haven't practiced the new flight schedule. Not sure if I want to embarrass myself yet.
lol we ended up not going because it was just too early in the morning coming out of Miami…. for the last 10 years or so we ve been going up to NC and TN every October to enjoy not just the foliage but also the roads. So many great roads up there! Sofl sucks… we live it so much that we bought some land in TN off Watts Bar Lake which is part of the Tennessee river…. It ready to retire yet but when we do we can just drive the hatteras up there and keep on boating !
Was just reminded in another thread; Turkey Run in Daytona https://www.turkeyrun.com/ Look forward to some pictures and tales.
The White Collection (55 white Porsches) has just sold for a combined total of just over $30 million. This article perfectly sums my sentiments: https://www.thedrive.com/news/the-least-joyful-porsche-collection-ever-just-sold-for-30m-at-auction I could never even imagine buying a Porsche and then parking it in what amounts to a private museum. A 918 Spyder with the Weissach package... and just 12 miles. Booring. Imagine owning that car (or anything else from that collection) and never experiencing what it was designed to do? It almost hurts me.
Love this quote from the article... Porsche collector Jerry Seinfeld recently said, “Failure to enjoy is one of the greatest sins of life. When you get to heaven, if you've got the lowest-mileage Porsche, YOU LOSE!” I'm reminded that Pascal had the kahunas to drive a fully restored, collectable Jag from Florida to the Tail of the Dragon. My biggest claim to fame is driving the Dragon in a rental car.
I watched a YouTube by the L.A. dude, Magnus I believe, touring The White Collection. I wonder how hurt he was as he seems to be a fan of driving. Not much patina comes from sitting in a collection, eh? Here's to driving.
Magnus is an English guy who has been buying all the crappy old Porsche wrecks in CA for years. His shop in downtown LA is worth million$$ just in parts. He has loads of old Jags too.
