The trouble with this Lock-Down is my mates are still building stuff in their sheds. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the Frogeye/Mini thingie scooter.
Sure hope that thingie has a reverse gear and training wheels. My wife is always fearful when I have too much time on my hands. Now she knows it could be much worse.
It just gets better and better: 444bhp and 479lb ft of torque via a €2000 plug-and-play box from zee Germans.
My C.P.A. has a 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL with 110K miles. He is the original owner and the car has always been garaged. He has entrusted me with the task of finding a buyer. The car is located in Miami, Florida.
The upcoming RM Sotheby's auction in Arizona (Jan. 22, 2021) will have the following homologation specials up in the block: 1983 Audi Ur-Quattro 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evo 1995 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II 1972 Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1600 HF Series II 1990 Mercedes Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Wide Body @AMG might be interested in the last 2... (personally, I'd take the complementing pair of DTM cars)
I wouldn't mind any of these cars, I have been driving all six, but from this auction I think I would take the 1973 Carrera RS Touring...
I haven't been on here in ages, the forum sent me a link to this thread. My lil wagon is 2wd BUT, it has a 5.5 M113 kompressor driveline.
Hi Steve, yes long time now! Nice wagon and rare with that engine. Mine has the 5.5 M273 with 388 Hp and AMG exhaust...
Yea, I have consulted with a few guys that have M117 AMG heads. When I worked at Ed Pink we dealt with a number of poor quality castings both heads and blocks. There is a guy I know in Atlanta that built a tribute Hammer wagon with a 32 valve engine. Mercedes showcased it at a few shows, he had a heck of a time getting things right. I really like the 4 cam M119 and M120 engines, I have built a couple 6.3 M119's A dream/fantasy of mine is a 25~30' classic runabout with a couple 7.4l M120's Imagine a couple of Zonda engines in a Hacker or Riva This is the only pic I have on this device of the SEC while I was close to finishing the conversion. My cars are in California and I am in Kansas at the monument.
I don't know if anyone here is following the Dakar, but this year - aside from the usual collection of mad machinery - they are running a Dakar Classic regularity rally alongside the main show.... a class filled with vintage hardware ranging from the Mitsubishi Pajeros and Monteros, Mercedes G-320s, old Land Rovers... all the way up to the iconic Rothmans Porsche 953 4x4! Just catching a glimpse of that lifted Porsche is enough to make my day!
I didn't catch that, I would have loved to see it, I will have to get a glipse on the 'ol YouTube I guess. Before our local automotive museum The World of Speed in Wilsonville, OR shut down during our current pandemic shut downs and will not come back, I got to see this First Place winner in the Vintage class at Baja.
The Classics don't get a huge amount of coverage, but there's a daily recap video for each stage on the Dakar Youtube channel.
A peculiarly specific trend to start 2021: Offroad Porsches! Aside from the period correct Dakar 911 we've also had Straat's Adventure Porsche and subsequently Singer's insane restomod 959.
