I had one of those too: 1959 Volvo Amazon with a B-16 engine, 3 speed manual. Got into all kinds of trouble with that car as a 17 year old hot stud in Norway. The trouble of course involved young girls and strong drinks, mostly when parked but occasionally when driving from one party to another in the country side. Same with motorcycles from age 15 to 21, no idea why I am still alive. Thx for the memories Lars.
Yup, 4-door and grayish/green. Wish I took more pictures back then. Good old days. How do we turn the clock back and do it over again?
Also had one of these: A Volvo Duett, lots of room in the back and being 19 years old, the interior was a combination of bedroom and bar. A Partywagon, mothers of young girls feared me
Speaking of exotic cars, this one was pretty exotic in Norway back in 1975: Bought it for cash when I was 18 and came back from my first trip at sea, pockets full of cash and it all went to wheels of course. (Stock photo from the Internet, same color, 289 V-8)
Another one of my ex-cars: Pretty exotic, it was a souped up version of the Vauxhall Victor, this one was called the Ventora with a 3.3 liter Bedford truck engine jammed in under the bonnet. It had more torque than God and was fun to drive, except in the winter, it would spin the rear wheels in all gears on snow and ice. (Photo from the Internet, credits to the photographer, not me)
On the roll: This one was fairly rare in Europe: A factory souped up version of the Viva, this was a Vauxhall Magnum, owned it for less than a year and sold it to help pay for flight school in the US back in 1978. (Another Google picture)
The little buggy we've been building in the workshop has now been sprayed, not a bad job. It's an old US Special Forces chassis mated to a small block Chevy. Should go well.
Several weeks ago (Sun 9/11) I wanted to get my mind off of remembering that day, and discovered there was a little car show just north of me in Nocatee Town, FL. I was quite surprised at some of the entries for a 'local parking lot show'. First a few nice Porsche.
