    PMY April issue was a shocker. Delivered to my desk, it plopped down much like the Weekly Reader I used to get in third grade....thinner even than Skip Allen's fine 'Southern' mag. Double-checked and, yep, the font on the spine is noticeably smaller than in the past.

    On the UP side (at least for the reader), I think you'll find that most of what is missing are ads and broker listings. No sense advertising if nobody is buying. Of course that's the DOWN side for the mags.

    West Marine Closing Stores

    Two years ago West Marine-Riverhead, NY moved from their store on Main Street to a big new store on Rte. 58. Recently I noticed that they had cut their hours of operation. My wife just drove past there and called to say they've now closed that store.
