Brian I think that it is like that on La Mirage and Were Dreams as well...maybe all the vessels of the series will have dual acting masts. Ecstasea has one of those as well.
Amels 454 launched The fourth hull in the Amels Limited Edition 171 foot series (Amels 454) has been launched. I have seen a photo on fellow member, Wim's (maritimephoto) website. She is all-white with black masked windows like La Mirage and Were Dreams.
454 is indeed LADY NAG NAG, she already appeared on AIS with that name but 18/06 she did her first trials in front of the Amels yard. Some images at: http://www.maritimephoto.com/collection/vessel/16405/photo/0 Cheers, Wim
And LADY NAG NAG continued her trials today at river Scheldt, the name and the homeport (Georgetown) are now on the stern but the she still sailed with the Dutch flag. Link Removed by Admin.
MaritimePhoto, If you want to supply an occasional link to your own site for "unique" photos... not duplicate shots at various angles... this is fine, but you will no longer continue to divert our traffic to ShipSpotting.
Hull 455 "Addiction" Wim Kosten advises that the name for the recently launched Amels 171 hull 455 is "Addiction".
Saw "Addiction" leaving Flushing, The Netherlands back in April and saw that she carries her tenders on the aft bridge deck. Is this such a smart idea? Seems to be taking away vital exterior space that cannot be used when the vessel is sailing. Maybe when they are at anchor or in a marina they will lift them off to free up the space. A number of the other units in that series carry their tenders in the bow. "Were Dreams", "Deniki", "La Mirage" have them there, I am not sure about "Lady Nag Nag", So it is strange to see "Addiction" with her's crowded behind a vital space.
Amels "Lady Nag Nag" has been nominated in the 40-65-meter category on the ISS. Photos of her interior are also there and can be described as light toned with a muted finish.
I would think the '8' in 458 designates eighth. However, as you would know the 171 series got split into the 171 and the slightly lengthened 177 series with the new "AdDiction". The 171 series started with "Deniki", "La Mirage", "Lady Nag Nag", "Were Dreams", "Unity" (ex."AdDiction"), "Bel Abri". The 177 series started with the new "AdDiction", hull 458, "Spirit" is the latest (hull 459). I tried to get them in order off the top of my head so the order could potentially be a little off...it isn't easy to remember all of these in order.
For me it seems right. Didn't know that Hull 458 is LE 177 , hard to believe that a heli can land over on the sundeck , very small.
If you look at the picture I posted above of hull 458 if you look at the aft part of the hull you would see how much longer it protrudes aft of the maindek aft overhang, you can see the difference. Original LE171 model Extended LE177 model (458)
