    Hi Evan,

It's bandwidth that costs money. The majority of websites are on shared servers at independent hosting companies. Large, interactive websites (such as popular forums) are usually on dedicated servers. These could be in-house, in-office or at a hosting facility. For top-tier websites, banks of servers are often needed, usually in strategic locations around the globe.

YachtForums has 2 dedicated servers located in Colorado. Why? Because we wanted a location that gave similar access speeds for the Americas and Europe, but more importantly... Colorado is stable. No Hurricanes. No earthquakes. No Tornadoes.

Back on track... rate plans vary, but generally as traffic increases, so does your cost. Lud's looking at a big bill this month... and I'm happy to help.

He aught to strike a deal with vB and have them pick up the add'l BW charges in exchange for them using that for their advertising portfolio.

No other thread has captured those statistics AFAIK.

Like CaptEvan, these internet nuances leave me clueless.

Carl, I am pleased to know that YF benefits from such skullduggery (above), but please describe the mechanism for us less adroit.

The thread on NSX Prime eclipsed 1,000,000 views today. It is believed to be the first thread in forum history to exceed this number. Even more impressive, it reached one million in 6 weeks. Here's a link to the index page showing the view count...
