I don’t do Facebook so if you could get me some contact info that would be awesome. That has been my experience as well. They all think they are perfect and fight you when you say something is wrong.

Carl, would you combine with "looking for a sportfishman" if you think its appropriate.

It would be great if the two threads could be combined as they are both on the same topic now

Carl is the owner/administrator. He will put the 2 threads together if he thinks it's appropriate. He often will do that on his own.

Don't give up on the 50. We have had ours for the last 21 seasons with ZERO regrets. They were introduced in 1989. I believe an '89 just sold for significantly under $200k?

I looked at this same 46’ in Bridgeport last Saturday. Overall didn’t seem worth the asking price. It was a good 25-40k above some other 46s of the same vintage I’d looked at in the last year. Out of curiosity , what issues did your surveyor raise with the stbd motor? When I looked the motors were winterized but it was not yet wrapped.

It was a friend of mine that bought it years ago. I ran it up from Fla to RI at that time both engines were re-built by a good GM guy. I think the boat was sold with about 40hrs on it, then it went to Bridgeport. I do not know anything about the engines since it was sold. There was a lot put in the boat though the years even when it was in Fla.

I am assuming you are referring to BigChief’s post about the boat he surveyed (I don’t think he surveyed this boat). When he was under contract for a 46 last year, the engine surveyor found some bad injectors during the trial (not the issue) but then the oil analysis came back with a good amount of anti-freeze and copper in it. A full rebuild was recommended for that motor and a closer look at the other engine.

I will mention to BigChief about this and see if he has more to post or which 46 it was that he surveyed but I don’t think it was this one as he felt it was overpriced for the quality.

I did look at this boat and felt that it was over priced and need more work that I wanted to deal with.

I did survey and sea trial a 1995 46, real cream puff of boat, but oil analysis was bad and starboard motor needed to be rebuilt. I wasn't looking for mid season project.
    Morning mist was the boat.
