Yeah, factory size minus 2" pitch is what I've found with my experience with Ocean's and the age of the boat.

I just called j & t and they gave me the info on the initial test runs 35 years later for my boat...how cool is that!

Sorry , for some reason i'm not getting emails sent to my personal email that there's activity going on this post so I've been MIA a few days.

I'm looking for 24 x 26 three blade 1 1/2" shaft bronze or nibral Dyna Jets.

I've got governor issues, The one that came with the boat that was always hunting at idle gave me 2450 or so top end RPM but when I, my mechanic , put this new governor on I lost top end RPM along with an idle screw that doesn't seem to adjust the idle very well .

I would agree with you about Ocean as they were speed crazy probably ran the boats on 100 gallons worth of fuel and no water in the water tanks etc. etc....
Light loads and with the tide ! Lol , to get those recorded speeds. Along with J & T pushing their engines to the limits.
I'll put more effort into cleaning my existing propellers for stamped marks when I haul out in the beginning of December to see what's really on there now.

    Thanks for you excellent input.
Keep in mind all, I do not run my boat like a tournament sport fish!
1500/1600 rpms is my friend! Those old 471s hum along like a Harbor Tug!

Then you need to change the governor first and get the motor running right and making WOT rpm's.

    I know.
Well it's new , but I think my mechanic messed with the shims...IMO. Got another DD mechanic to call to take a look at things at some point.
It's kind of low on the totem pole for me right now.

Remeber my leaking / messed up rub rail issues? That's up next for me , my next big protect . Yay!
