Race 1 was boring, I hope there is more breeze as they go for the Cup.
I am behind on my AC watching, so I will get to race 2 now.
I don't know why, but I am rooting for Sir Ben. Nothing against the Kiwis, but Nathan Outeridge on the helm with Pete Burling has always been a thorn in Ben's side.
I hope for a good battle.

Unless conditions change this will be an easy win for the Defender, with a half knot more of real VMG.

Actually since the hull of TNZ is similar to Luna Rossa, the conditions need more to change sea wise (more wave), rather then wind.
LR suffered versus Ineos when the sea state had a wave of one meter or more, rather then the strong wind alone.
With wind at 15 knots plus, Ineos never had the big advantage on LR sum were saying at the start of the racing.
Actually Ineos was still slower up wind in those strong winds we had in the LV final.

Where there seem to be a big difference is in how the kiwi execute their maneuvers. They seem to accelerate out of a tack or jybe faster than Britannia

GBR saved their campaign today... I only caught snippets, will have to go back to watch it all later.

First race was all about staying on the foils in light conditions. The kiwis didn’t in the prestart, by the time they got back Britannia was approaching the top mark. Game over.
Race nr 2 was pretty close with the kiwis coming back at the end.

Told you sea state was it needed to make it even.
This was easily to predict, considering how LR (very similar shape to TNZ) hull shape, suffered when it was swell.

Its all in the hands of Neptune/Poseidon at this stage.
