Yes, They work like a champ.
Just a different model from yours.
No telling what Honeywell was making 46 years ago.

I replaced my solenoid when that system went from 32Vdv to 24Vdc.

Not finding Honeywell brand but these attic fan controls showed up. Either look like yours ? Not yet heard back from HiTide.

Ahhhh, the ole Halon System. My 1979 had factory CO2. Tank must have been 5' long with enough
high pressure to keep me awake at night so replaced it with Halon but never hooked
up the new pressure shut down switch out of concern for a false engine shut down at a bad time. Part number might be super but the Honeywell I pulled out did not have one visible. Strangely it does have a serial number.

Here is my thermo switch. Yep, the clock spring in the back looks like heck but after 46 years untouched, still works like a champ.
    Mounted high on the aft/center-line.

The 4" duct you see in the last picture picks up from the overhead in the middle of the E R and goes to the thermo activated blowers.

Please excuse the wire mess over the battery chargers. After replacing the mechanical engine temp leads to the lower helm and pulling other leads, I have yet to return here to clean up the spider nest.

According to HiTide, it's no longer made. Danny said hunt with Google which brought up the one with the long probe I removed. I did just find this digital one on ebay that's really cheap and may just work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/295066984965

IMO, nothing beats these mechanical thermo contactors.
I'm sorry you could not get your old one working.

I found several like my old one with the long probe but I hate rust so want one without that long probe my old one has. The digital one was already shipped and Amazon has a very easy return policy so I figure worth a shot.

I think the only shot at finding one like yours is slim to none; I even called Sams, the Hatteras supply in Ft. Laud. yesterday and the guy there said the only one they had was 0-80 degrees. Very Strange. Unless you find a "new old stock" one I'll try the electronic one that was shipped and if not that; get one like I had as last resort.

I gave up (for now) on a sister thermo switch to mine.
Interesting that my model was discontinued and seems replaced by the newer model similar to yours.
I would SWAG, your model should be the better design.
Or, cost reduced design that I keep discovering in other products.

Years ago I installed a small adjustable temp sensor, the size of a matchbox, under the hood of my E-type so the fans would come in to cool the engine bay and eliminate vapor lock. It cycles the fans on and off until the engine has cooled enough. Can’t remember where I got it from though!

The thermo switches we have are just that, a simple mechanical switch, pushed on/off by an expanding/contracting spring. No external (12 or 24Vdc) is required.
IMO, this just keeps it super simple. After 46 years, Mine works fine for me.

Now, A simple button thermal switch could work also. Not sure of the amperage specs rite now.

Maybe the adjust-ability of the newer gizmo has something to offer but is beyond my personal (Crappy) KISS theorys.
