This boat was sponsored by PC Universe, a re-seller based out of Boca Raton.

I think this guy is in the sprinkler business, because water was spraying all over the boat. Forget white Christmas, this was a wet Christmas...

A local dinner/charter boat. This is what snow looks like in South Florida...

I don't recall what kind of boat this was, but it's probably a Sea Ray based on the down angle of the forward sheer line. Don't know what they were thinking... giving the transom more freeboard than the bow on some new models!

The Calvery Chapel entry was featured earlier in the thread during daylight hours. The pasture at this church is Bob Coy. He could have been a world class comedian and is using those talents to reach people. God bless...

Shake A Leg Miami? My best guess is a dance studio or maybe they're encouraging people to get busy.

That wraps up the worst pictures I've ever taken, but like I said... something is better than nothing. Slow shutter speeds and rocking boats don't mix.

The final picture is my wish to our members... :)

Hey Carl, I assume you've been watching these parades for many years... so tell me, do you remember (best guess, 15 years ago at least) two guys that enterted a canoe and set it on fire for the duration of the parade?

    Hi Kevin,

I don't recall this, however a very good friend has been entering a Hawaiian style outrigger canoe on behalf of the Mai-Kai (a Polynesian restaurant) every year and they had a small fire onboard after fuel spilled on a Christmas light. Not sure if this is the same incident, but it happened about 7 years ago. (best I remember)

Well this friend of my fathers was down in FL one year for some SCUBA diving, and while there he heard about this "big parade where everyone lights up their yachts" and he thought it was a pretty cool idea. So, over a few beers (how all good plans are hatched) him and his friend decided they'd crash the party... one small problem being they didn't have a boat. So they quickly found a canoe to buy, cheap, and then spent a little time in a hardware store picking up what they'd need... that being sheet-metal and that stuff they put on walls around fireplaces to prevent everything from catching fire. They quickly assembled it all in the middle of the canoe, fabricating what was basically a "fire-pit" then loaded it up, set in on fire and went out to join the parade. (He took the "lights up" part too seriously I guess...)

So there they were... paddling a canoe among all the yachts with a great big bonfire burning in the middle of it. The heat was pretty intense and him and his friend spent more time splashing each other to avoid burning, than actually going much of anywhere.

They did come home from their SCUBA trip with a trophy though. Something about "most original"...
