    Trumpy SEA HOLM in Columbus Day Regatta

    You are correct - SEA HOLM is a Trumpy. When I saw her last, she was owned by Carl Vesper, who had retired from the USIA, and was moving the yacht from her berth in Annapolis to her new home in Florida. SEA HOLM was launched in 1948 for Alfred Dupont. She is between 61' and 58' LOA (reports differ). Your photo suggests that she may be suffering from some hogging aft. Still - a handsome yacht.

    Hi SilverSwan!!

    Nice to hear from you. It's been WAY too long. I noticed the exact same thing when I came across her transom. Hold on for a minute, I've got a better picture of the stern.

    Whoops... I was wrong. I took over 100 pictures at the event. I thought I had photographed the stern of "SeaHolm", but it was "Harvest Moon". Sorry. :(

    The Azimuts were out in force, and then the mother ship arrived... a beautiful Benetti.

    One of the highlights for me was seeing the "BOSS", by Westship. Darn shame to haul a live fish onboard this beauty!

    The "BOSS" bow. The girl waving from the crows nest granted me a picture that I can't post. :eek:

    That wraps-up the virtual cruise of the Columbus Day Regatta. As we departed, I saw one of my old boats, a 28' Skater, which caused me to reflect on many good memories and then I concluded... the best are yet to come.

    To give you an idea of the size of this event, you literally need binoculars to see boats on the other side of the flotilla. These last few pics are basically boring, but give a broad scope perspective.

    These pics are all taken from different areas on the outside of the flotilla. As you make your way in, it becomes so densily populated that it's unsafe to navigate unless you're in a dinghy.

    Nice pics, thanks for sharing! I have YET to make the regatta :mad:
    I seem to always miss it by a day or two when taking my boat to FL for the winter.
    One of these days Carl. One of these days..............

    The above posted Rogue-yacht seems to be a Tempest. Their designer must be a starwars-fan.

    The Tempest is (or was?) for sale at Bradfords. She is 88´and a 60-footer with similar styling was also built as a one-off on a 60 Open.

    This is what they say about the pictured boat;

    SIMON SEZ is a one-of-a-kind, futuristic looking all fiberglass yacht with solid FRP bottom and balsa sandwich superstructure. Curved windows throughout are laminated safety glass. The non-articulated surface piercing T-Torque Drive System allows a shallow draft of 5' 6". Designed and built by Tempest Yachts for the Chairman of the company with no expense spared to demonstrate their engineering capabilities and craftsmanship. Originally planned for use on the rivers and canals of Europe and designed with a low height (under 20') to enable it to clear most of the bridges. The yacht can cruise on two or three engines at speeds up to 27.5 knots.
