If I recall, the Walter drive cases were water cooled. You are looking at oil or water lines? The clutch (separate assembly) may require oil cooling.

The Ocean I worked on did have shut off valves to the center tank. Could not tell you if they were factory, hope so. Installing a new glass tank...
