On my 45 it's under the companionway stairs and accessed through a hatch located under the mattress in the guest stateroom.
I forget the part number but yes, single hole, about 9 or 10 inches long by about 4 inches.
Bow pulpit on my 97 is wood cored. I think all else above waterline is foam cored.
