  1. The owners private study is located adjacent to the master, on the port side. Complete with built-in book shelves and cabinets that house a flat screen television, the office is comfortable and accessible with dual entries.
  2. If the Crew of this Crabber turned Escort ever saw a bidet onboard their prior platform, it would likely become a rip-line on an episode of the Deadliest Catch. It's clear the YES crew knew a little more about luxury yachts than a greenhorn here, having been involved with such builds as Oceanco's Lady Lola. The master bath, complete with porcelain that flushes up and marble galore, benefits from one of SuRi's best features... another great view.
  3. The lower deck is a combination of machinery spaces, storage areas and guest facilities. Forward is the 300 hp diesel powered, direct drive bowthruster. Next aft to port and starboard are large storage rooms with deck to overhead shelves. The following compartments house the air conditioning compressors and MSD system. The fun then begins with a large, fully equipped gymnasium including elliptical machine, treadmill, two Keiser air pressure controlled strength training station, free weights, stretching cage and the obligatory Crestron-controlled LCD TV. Across from the gym is the massage room and beauty salon with a Murphy bed in case additional berthing is required. The steam room, shower and head are access from either the gym or massage room. Forward of the large commercial engine room are 2 guest cabins, one king and one twin, with ensuite heads and walk-in closets.

Shown here is the VIP guest suite...
  4. The chief engineer and first mate have private cabins and share a common head, all also finished in maple with granite countertops. Aft of the crew area to starboard is the A/V room housing 19 requisite 19 satellite TV receivers, amplifiers, Crestron equipment and Kaleiescape hardware. As is the YES standard, every system was either completely rebuilt or fully replaced with new. The new MSD sanitation system is the HMX by Headhunter. Florida Heat Pump through Joe Water Refrigeration in Jacksonville provided air conditioning systems which offers total zone control with individual compressors and air handlers. The IMO certified oily water separator was manufactured by BOSS. The existing generators were removed and replaced with two 99 kW gensets and one 65 kW emergency generator, all with John Deere motor drivers.

Shown here is the guest twin, opposite the VIP above...
  5. The attached Powerpoint slide show depicts the ruggedness of the platforms that YES uses for conversions into yacht escort ships. These are serious seagoing vessels and a comforting foundation on which to sail the oceans of the world. SuRi began life as one of these vessels, "Fierce Contender", pictured below. In order to achieve a yacht-like finish, over 3 tons of fairing compound with a final coat of Sherwin Williams Proline Hi-Gloss paint was applied by West Coast Marine in Seattle. It must be noted that paint and fairing applications attempted in the Pacific Northwest in the winter are a true test of coating talents.
  6. The two Detroit Diesel 16V149 main engines (1800 hp total), their Twin Disc marine gears and the 8V-71 bowthruster (300 hp) were completely rebuilt to zero hour specification by authorized manufacturer representatives. Air starts are positively assured with two completely rebuilt Quincy air compressors and engine controls upgraded by Mathers. SuRi utilizes a Flume stabilization system which is comprised of a computer modeled anti-roll tank. It is always active, very effective, uses no power and requires almost no maintenance.

One point of interest often questioned is the alternating capitalization format for the names JeMaSa and SuRi. Each two letter group represents the first two letters of a name. For JeMaSa they represent the names of the owner’s three lovely daughters. Operating in support of and enhancing the JeMaSa experience is SuRi, the first two letters of the owner’s wife and the owner’s names.

As the various professional societies, yachting magazines and self-proclaimed experts gather
to review the state of yacht construction and analyze the superyacht deliveries for 2008...

YachtForums is proud to be the first to declare SuRi as “Refit of the Year.”
