  1. The master stateroom’s watertight door has an autotrigger or electric pushbutton operation and a hand-crank for manual override in a concealed compartment on each side of the barrier. The door is tied in with the intricate alarm system.
  2. The handholds are built into the furniture in all rooms. Bull-nosed solid wood raised edges provide enough fiddles to almost be “surround sound.”
  3. Easy-grab handholds in the galley are tastefully and inconspicuously incorporated into the countertops.
  4. Tijssen Electric displayed expertise in all aspects of the custom power designs. One panel in the equipment room shows the complexity of electrical needs.
  5. Good lighting and airflow help to make this behind helm panel impressive. Even though the locale was Italy, no spaghetti wiring on this boat.
  6. Tijssen designed the sophisticated touch screen data management and monitoring system displaying programs in a user friendly format.
  7. For the old-fashioned means of look-up, the 'manual' manuals are professionally prepared and, as well, are all computerized.
  8. Great bell. Even better decibels! The silence is golden rule was accomplished. The Lloyd’s level of acceptable decibels on a displacement vessel in harbor is 55 for salon, 50 for cabins, and 60 for open decks. The Moonen 100 Explorer significantly beat those readings at anchor, but exemplified the acoustical accomplishment with the decibel readings underway. With the engines running with 50% load at maximum rpms and one generator in operation, the salon measured 58 db (43 at anchor with one generator incl AC), 52-61 in cabins (39-43 at anchor w/ gen. AC), and 59 on the flybridge aft deck underway.
  9. Here's Judy sporting her YF t-shirt onboard the Moonen 100' Explorer in San Remo, Italy. Special thanks to YF member "Nilo" (Salim Erdem) for selecting YachtForums to provide coverage of this very special build.
