Review: Amels Latest Princess - "Larissa"

A waiting room is seperated from other onboard activites, for reading or socializing in privacy.

The owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, features three rooms, with luxurious space as large and well organized as any top-drawer luxury hotel suite. The bedroom sports a king size island berth, as well as couches, entertainment areas and well placed cabinetry. Walk-in his-hers closets make organization simple, while his-hers baths also provide convenience. A separate lounge presents an office space, reading alcove, or interview room.

In contrast to the picture above, this daytime photograph of the master showcases the illumination of the wrap-around windows.

With granite his-hers sinks and an inlaid marble floor, the owner’s bath also sports a convenient vanity, make-up table. All too often, the master bath on a yacht is void of exterior views. No so with Larissa. Generous windows flank the owner's bath.

Two large VIP guest suites offer queen size island berths, as well as room-width dressers and armoires. Each has its private bath as well.

Plasma TV entertainment centers, bed lamps and bed tables with storage are provided for both VIP's.

Extraordinarily large and beautifully furnished, the guest baths and staterooms are each individually designed, to add a uniqueness found on few other vessels. The en-suite large bathrooms each have a unique selection of five different marbles.

Detailing such as wrap-around wall mirrors and granite twin sinks are enhanced by large, glass-enclosed showers. Other baths may flaunt glittering stainless steel sinks, highly polished.

Twin berths are featured in several of the guest suites, with dressing tables, bed lamps and floor to ceiling armoires in sturdy oak finish. Each has its own private bath/shower/head.

Guest Quarters #2. Although indentical in lay-out, each is decorated with different appointments, adding individuality and dimension.

Her magnificent wheel-house spreads the entire beam width, sporting a panoramic view of the sea as well as complete coverage of state-of-the-art instrumentation. A huge spectator bench just behind the wheel awaits guests who will marvel at the captain's responsibility. Whatever is necessary for the Captain’s voyaging plans – anywhere in the world – Larissa cleverly provides.

The Captain rates a cabin on the upper deck immediately aft of the bridge/wheel-house. With an island queen size berth, it also contains a private bath, hanging locker and work desk, as seen in the next picture.

The chief stewardess quarters are sizeable enough for comfort on the longest of voyages.

The crew are in a world all their own. Larissa provides much larger than average crew quarters, indicating the designer may have been a crew member himself at some point.

Crews Quarters are forward on the lower deck, and include single berths, two to a room, in three separate staterooms. The Engineer rates a single room with queen size berth. The full complement includes the crew mess and a fully equipped ship’s laundry room.

Just forward on the main deck are the pantry and galley, with convenient passages to the dining room. The first-quality professional galley includes a refrigerated trash compactor, similar to those found on luxury cruise ships.

Freezers and cold storage... times three!

It's not often you see a commercial size washer and dryer on a boat. This not only handles the capacity of her crew and guests, but smaller back-up units are incorporated for redundancy as well.
