    "Azzam" has made another appearance in Gibraltar right after S/Y "A" went there.

    "Azzam" arriving into Gibraltar. She always had that radar on the roof by the Satcom balls? Also ,,,what is that on the aft main deck? Some kind of reel? I can't remember seeing that there before.

    I don't think so. The first time she passed through was when she was new and headed to Abu Dhabi.

    you are indeed correct I think the mast was retractable from the start, or she had a retractable mast installed recently, please see the post below;

    Well, i have never seen it retracted before...so might be plausible this was recently done. I know some of these yachts have this feature not just to get under bridges but more to allow the crew to be able to clean the mast when it gets sooted up from the uptakes. "A+" ex. "TOPAZ" comes to mind.

    According to some media outlets the owner of Azzam has passed away. I imagine it will be passed down to someone in the ruling family.

    The fact that this beast can achieve such high speeds at such a massive length is stunning and something I still admire and wonder about to this day. To make Azzam a comfortable ride at that speed is a engineering feat.

    Not to double post but I sure hope we can one day see a video that shows her at top speed.

    I remember an AIS screenshot of her doing 30 knots, I agree with you that there must be a video somewhere of her cleaning her exhaust pipes and would love to see it myself.
