Cheoy Lee is one of the oldest shipyards in the world. This privately owned shipyard is currently building commercial vessels like tug boats, supply vessel, ferries just to name few, and a variety of pleasure crafts. Pleasure craft line up includes Serenity trawlers, Bravo and Global series motoryachts, explorer yachts and Alpha express yachts. This 2012 Alpha is in immaculate shape. It is a one owner vessel that has only 460 hours on each main engine. It is owned by a couple that truly enjoys yachting. They love to use the vessel both locally and in the Bahamas.

The Alpha line started as collaboration with 2 talented designers, Michael Peters and Luiz deBasto. The shipyard's goal was to build a better express yacht with sea worthiness, strength and the quality Cheoy Lee clients are familiar with. Using components, materials and parts available in the United States, several Alphas were constructed.
-
The construction methods are similar to the other Cheoy Lee yachts, with no wood in construction. That means the flooring, bulkheads and stringers are cored fiberglass, no plywood is used to build these vessels. The Hull is resin infused and has integral fiberglass tankage; no aluminum tanks are used at all.
-
The advantage of integral tankage is is more fuel capacity as the hull shape is used more efficiently, the tanks do not corrode and they also act as double bottom in a critical situation.
-
One of their favorite things to do for the current owners is anchoring in a remote place in the Bahamas. They feel that one of the best parts of the vessel is the aft deck Jacuzzi. They have upgraded the vessel to be very suitable for owner operator use as well as to have a captain and mate with them.
-
Based on their recent travels they were comfortable operating the vessel themselves and when entertaining the crew ran the yacht. Even though the vessel came nicely equipped they have added some nice features. For convenience of docking they installed 2 additional joystick stations, one port and one starboard side on the aft deck.
-
Additionally, plenty of sun shades were added which they enjoy when at anchor. One of the cool features is the underwater camera that feeds both master and salon TV. There is a great underwater TV show available when anchoring.
-
The list of upgrades is impressive. The interior layout with 3 staterooms is very comfortable. This layout allows to have a galley below with a full size refrigerator.
-
They also have added a forward looking sonar and plenty of other electronics on the vessel. This client likes to keep the sunroof open and the aft deck glass doors and the retractable center panel completely open as much as they can. Therefore a whole ship de-humidifier system is a great addition as well.
-
The current owners truly love this yacht. They like the slow cruises on the Intracoastal Waterway but they also feel comfortable that they can get home quickly if needed as this yachts top speed is about 40 knots, all the while watching the clouds pass through the atrium.
-
Galley is equipped also with a dishwasher, trash compactor, wine cooler, cooktop and a convection microwave oven. Next to the galley is a breakfast table with comfortable seating. Galley is separating the guest quarters from the master stateroom giving privacy for the guests and owners.
-
A large full beam master stateroom with spacious walk in closet and master bath with a Jacuzzi tub really gives ultimate comfort for the owners.
