Hi Steve, yes long time now! Nice wagon and rare with that engine. Mine has the 5.5 M273 with 388 Hp and AMG exhaust...

The V12 is probably more easy to find spare parts to than an AMG 32v 6.0..!

I don't know if anyone here is following the Dakar, but this year - aside from the usual collection of mad machinery - they are running a Dakar Classic regularity rally alongside the main show.... a class filled with vintage hardware ranging from the Mitsubishi Pajeros and Monteros, Mercedes G-320s, old Land Rovers... all the way up to the iconic Rothmans Porsche 953 4x4!

Just catching a glimpse of that lifted Porsche is enough to make my day!

Before our local automotive museum The World of Speed in Wilsonville, OR shut down during our current pandemic shut downs and will not come back, I got to see this First Place winner in the Vintage class at Baja.

The Classics don't get a huge amount of coverage, but there's a daily recap video for each stage on the Dakar Youtube channel.
