Definitely doing both at once...mechanic said the marvel stuff has detergents in it that will break up the 30 year old crud that has built up over time

    Naw.
Fresh oil does also. Don't risk swelling any seals till it's time.

Been driving around still moving my stuff.
Been thinking my last comment was to short and going to try it again.
Oil has it's own detergents to help keep things clean.
You don't want any additives if all is working correctly.

    Bottom line;
Never kick a sleeping dog. :D:D:D

Changed both remote filters on the back of the trannys...little bit of sludge in the bottom of the canister...both trannys had maybe a half shot glass of sludge combined

Rite where the mud should be. Shop vac it out and reassemble.
Try not to stick anything in there to get more, you may just loosen it and never get the last out. That's why I have a trashed shop vac and small pick up hose (3/4").
Marvel oil may have loosened it but may have re-suspended it in the oil and spread it every ware again.

We don't want to stress the seals quicker than need be.

I understood the screen cannot be cleaned unless the tranny is pulled, so said the local Cap gear rep.

I found an old PDF Cap Clutch manual.
Manual says pull the screen every 400 hours for cleaning.
Some installations may not give you the room to service the screens.

PM me with your real address and I can send a copy. It's about 2.8mb.
Looks like I downloaded it 1 1 2015 from somewhere.

Well my transmission is going in reverse again for no reason. Only happens when motor and oil is cold...valve body seals were replaced last year...any other ideas? It works fine when tranny is warm...has 100psi according to the gauge when cold. Hardly any pressure when warm at idle but works fine.

Get the valve body resealed. You may have picked some trash or there is a score in the assembly.
    Re-read #27 above.
Try to get a rebuilt valve body,
Cylinder and rod all polished up.

pressure should be 225 to 250.

Way under on the pressure...it is near 0 when hot and about 100 when cold...other tranny shows 200 when cold and about 150 when hot...just pulled the screen on the port tranny and it was clean minus a few very small pieces of metal

Correction: 200 at idle & 225 under load.
Do you know the model of your Capitol ?
    H11200 or maybe H 10200 ?

The pressure regulator on the pump can be disassembled and inspected for crap.
Has a big spring inside the you need to be prepared for.
Not a big deal if you know it's under pressure.

The direction valve is also pretty easy to take apart.
The gasket ubder the valve is rubber and re-usable if you take care removing it.
There are tiny ports there that direct the oil to which ever solenoid pack.

You can find drawings and explanations at the capitol gear dot com site.
Need your model # first tho
